English- Pathways book ‘Escape from Pompeii’ 

We will be writing a diary entry.

 

Maths

• Calculating with multiplication and division
• Fractions

• Decimals
• Area and Perimeter

Science – Electricity 

• Identify common appliances that run on electricity.
• Construct a simple series electrical circuit, identifying and naming its basic parts including cells, wires, bulbs, switches and buzzers
• Recognise that a switch opens and closes a circuit and associate this with whether or not a lamp lights in a simple series circuit.
• Recognise some common conductors and insulators, and associate metals with being good conductors.

Geography – UK focus 

• Locate & name UK countries, capital cities and main cities
• Topographical features of UK: coasts, mountains, hills, rivers etc.
• We will be focusing on Snowdonia.

Music – Recorders 

This year we will be taking the whole cohort to the recorder festival in February. We have practised many songs and are excited to show off our skills.
