Friends of Priorslee (FOP) are a group of parents and teachers who volunteer some of their time to organise social events throughout the school year for pupils, staff and parents.
Why?
We organise these events to raise money to purchase equipment, goods and projects for our children, to help the school give them the very best opportunities.
We have recently made a donation towards the Multi Use Games Area but we contribute in lots of ways. Previously we have contributed to food and technology for each base, purchased TV/VCR’s, DVD player, cameras, lockers, playground shelters, the Fresh Air Fitness Gym equipment and reception equipment.
The events we organise provide an opportunity for parents to get to know each other.
How do we raise money?
By coordinating events which have included children’s disco’s, mufti days, Summer/Christmas Fayres, bingo nights, sponsored bicycle rides; to name but a few. How can I get involved?
We have a couple of options for you to choose from to be involved with your child’s school, depending upon the amount of time you have to offer.
Complete the attached form and return to school if you want more information, would like to be included on our helpers list or want to join the next committee meeting, or e-mail us directly at Fopriorslee1@googlemail.com.
Meetings: Once your child attends the school or you become a member of staff we welcome you to join our meetings. We meet once every six weeks in the school hall. The date and time of meetings will be advertised on the Friends Newsletter or via Text message. Please feel free to ask any of the friends when the next meeting is.
Helper: Should you not have the time for a committee role then please volunteer to be a helper at any of the events. Just half an hour of your time at events such as the Summer and Christmas Fayres would be greatly appreciated and can make a difference to us holding future events.
