Little Seedlings Pre-School

Priorslee Academy Little Seedlings Pre-School opened its doors for the first time in January 2016, catering for children between the ages of 3-5.

In January 2021, the Pre-School has been relaunched as ‘Little Seedlings’ offering childcare for ages 2-5.

The staff are highly professional, experienced and qualified, with a passion for teaching and learning. All have necessary police checks, up-to-date safeguarding training and are also paediatric first-aiders. The Pre-School Manager and EYFS Lead Teacher work closely with Academy staff to ensure that planning and delivery are first-class. This close working relationship will also ensure an effective and efficient transition into Reception for all those pupils accessing a place within the Academy.

The Pre-School is overseen by a voluntary, management committee, drawn from the Directors of the Academy comprising of parents, community governors and staff, and is registered with Ofsted.

We ensure that our staff: child ratio 1:4 for children aged 2 – 3, and 1:8 for children aged 3 – 4 years are upheld and often exceeded.

Session Times

Breakfast Club 7.45am until 8.45am
Staff welcome children at 8.45am or 12.30pm
Welcome & focus activity 9.15am or 1.15pm
Free play, child initiated session (indoors and outdoors)
Circle time (discussion, songs, stories and rhymes) 11.20am or 3.00pm
Fruit and snack time 10.15am or 2.15pm
Tea time club from 3.30pm until 4.30pm (additional wrap around until 6.00pm is available with one weeks notice)

Session Costs

Monday to Friday morning sessions are 8.45am-11.45am.

Monday to Friday afternoon sessions are 12.30pm-3.30pm.

Any non-funded sessions are charged at a rate of £15 per 3 hour session.

Breakfast Club operates in Pre-School from 7.30am-8.45am and is charged at £3.50 for full-time children (including food).

Funding may be used for the time spent in breakfast club for part-time children who are not utilising their full 30 hour entitlement, but there will be a separate food charge of £0.50 to pay.

The lunch-time club also takes place in the hall between 11.45am-12.30pm and is charged at £3. Children can bring in sandwiches or have a hot lunch at a charge of £2 extra.

After school club is in Pre-School from 3.30pm – 6.00pm at a charge of £8.50 for the whole session or £4 for one hour, £7.50 for two hours including food. Funding may be used for the time spent in after-school club for part time children who are not utilising their full 30 hour entitlement, but there will be a separate food charge of £1.00 for the first hour and £0.50 for the second hour to pay.

All Little Seedlings sessions are charged in advance on a monthly basis.
